Back to School…#@!”

Back to School…#@!”

With my bag over my shoulders, my snack box and my water bottle I entered the school with all the excitement and ready pranks in my mind to play at the school and have loads of fun… That was when I was a student, a kid and a learner…

But today I went in, not as a student, still with a bag in hand and the same excitement I had when I was a student in a similar school…

Entering a school, seeing so many kids, few of them playing in the ground, few sitting with their drawing books and few on their benches listening to their teachers attentively… This was a scene of my past… I thought my school days were over once and for all… but no… 😉 I was wrong. After my first ice breaking session at Karpaga Vidyalaya, I realized… my school days have come back… wow… isn’t it exciting… I don’t know whom do I thank… do I thank Bhumi, or do I thank god, or do I thank myself for having searched the google for a voluntary organization..

Besides all this, it was an energizing day at school after years.

We were standing outside the classroom (the other volunteers and I) just watching the kids enter the class… They greeted us with a wonderful smile and a warm ‘good morning akka’… There was so much energy in air which made the place really noisy. Though few of us were trying to hush them to silence, our efforts seemed to have been futile… Just then entered one of their teachers making magic with her words – “Hands up,…. Hands down,… Hands up,….”

This was simply wow… They just got busy following the instructions and the entire class of around 65 kids was silent forgetting all the gossips and chattering that was on.… This was like a magic for me. It was so simple yet I was unaware of this wonderful technique…
Started up with a small round of introduction, we then began with our games… Believe me… it is no ways easy to host a game for a gang of about 65 energetic and enthusiastic kids…

Man… You really need to have a bag full of energy and patience, along with a really strong voice to cut through the volume of fun the kids are making. This was an experience… A real experience… (Now I know why teachers are mostly so strict)
What we actually did after that was played few games… and we also had to split our batch cause the room couldn’t handle so much energy at one time.. The kids had almost brought the roof down…

And in my class we had some wonderful dance performances as well…

I was amazed to see the way they actually danced… superb… (Frankly speaking I thought they would do some dance which would be of average standard…) But they proved me entirely wrong… With what ease they danced… Mind blowing… Wish I could take a video of that… they danced without music with the same enthu one would have danced with music… and the steps… wonderful they were…

The kids have dreams… Dreams to grow… Dreams to become big in life… Dreams to prove their worth… Dreams to show the world what they are…

I am really happy about my LIFE, where I have got an opportunity to give back to school what I got from it (though in a much smaller way… but it’s truly said – every drop makes a difference)…
