RTE25 – Right to Education Awareness

About This Project

The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act or Right to Education (RTE) act of 2009 made India one of the very few countries in the world to make education a right of every child. Section 12(1)c of the act guarantees 25% reservation for children of backward and economically weaker sections of the society free education in private schools.

An estimated 15 lakh such free seats are available each year, yet most of them are not taken as there is little awareness among underprivileged communities. Our focus is to engage volunteers in creating awareness among such communities and helping them benefit from this life-transforming opportunity.

Volunteer for RTE

If you know a child between the age of 3 and 4, who could benefit from free education in private schools, please click on the button below and refer them, along with your name and contact information. Bhumi volunteers will assist them in the application process.
