18 May Taare Maidaan Par… Nakshatra Sports 2019, Mumbai
When we look back at our childhood and run down that memory lane, what are the incidents that make us smile and fill our hearts with joy? It is the time spent with our friends, the games we played, the silly fights we had while playing football matches during monsoon and the number of window panes we broke while dreaming of becoming the next Sachin Tendulkar. Besides education, Childhood is not only about education but also about exploring our talents and creating fond memories.
Bhumi, one of India’s largest independent and youth volunteer non-profit organisations recognizes the need for holistic education. To improve the self-confidence of children and to contribute to their holistic development through promotion of extra-curricular activities, Bhumi associated with HP SAMPARK’s voluntary programme for implementing Annual Talent Fest (Nakshatra) 2019.
After 3 successful editions of Annual Arts Talent Fest, this was the first time Bhumi’s Mumbai Chapter hosted the sports edition of Nakshatra. 493 children from 17 shelter homes showcased their talents in a plethora of sports activities. The key highlight of this event was the presence of 50 children from two other organizations namely ADAPT (Able Disable All People Together) and PODS (Parents of Down’s Syndrome) working towards the needs of specially-abled children. The annual sports event was graced with the presence of the chief guests Dr. Prahalathan KK, the co-founder of Bhumi along with Mr. Pushp Joshi and Mr. K S Shetty from HP SAMPARK.
