Tell us a little about yourself!

I am doing Under Graduation (Engineering) in Indra Ganesan College of Engineering. I am volunteering at Bhumi for the past three years.

How did volunteering with Bhumi happen? (Including beginning, which project you volunteered for)?

I joined Bhumi when I first volunteered for Nakshatra Sports in 2014. Then I joinedg Ignite project, volunteering in 2015 for LEM Project. After an year of volunteering, I took up the role of Center Coordinator. Now I am an LB coordinator. Till date, I have participated in two Nakshatra Sports event and two Nakshatra Arts.

What change did these experiences bring in your life? How has Bhumi altered you, personally?

Bhumi brought in me the much essential social responsibility, and it also helped develop my leadership skills, handling a situation with cool and calm attitude. That helped me lot in personal life as well.

One most memorable incident in your life as a Bhumian:

After an year, whenever I go to my home, kids behave very affectionately. Similarly, after Nakshatra event, children will just circle around me with affection, that inspire me to do more for them. These are some memorable incidents in my life as a Bhumian.

Tell us about one Bhumian, who has been an inspiration.

Every volunteer is an inspiration at different times. They all help in creating a huge impact on society as well as personally, to grow my skills and character.

Any specific, special moment with kids or volunteers you would like to share with us?

Every Sunday class with kids is special. If I don’t show up for a class, they would lovingly enquire, the next time I visit. Volunteers are more than friends to me; each happy times spent together with them is special.

A message to every volunteer at Bhumi:

Happy volunteering! Teach kids, make an impact.
